A space to relax and recharge mind, body and soul! Enjoy the magical healing energy of the sun, the moon, the stars and the waves at Casa Ix Chel. You will find a breathtaking ocean front location and ample deck space to bask in nature. Large palapas are available for reading, relaxing, yoga and the opportunity to simply enjoy time with yourself.
Massage and energy work are available as well as Mayan healing baths and a unique “chakra pool”. There is also a steam bath as well as a traditional Mayan sweat lodge or temazcal, where healing ceremonies are held by appointment 2 or 3 times a week.
Isla Mujeres has been enjoyed as a healing sanctuary and energy center since 1300 AD when the Maya made pilgrimages to the shrine of Ix Chel to make offerings to the goddess of the moon and fertility. We have continued that tradition combining the very best of modern and ancient healing arts.
Our 'Hotelito' or little hotel features eight suites, each with a theme, such as "Serenity' or 'Abundance' - you'll learn more on the Suites page. Most suites feature full tubs for purifying and relaxation. Herbs and salts have been selected for your convenience, custom blends are available on request. Small kitchens with refrigerators, range tops, blenders, tea and coffee pots, and of course, cooking and dining utensils are available in all suites but one. Linens are 100% cotton, laundered and sun-dried - a delightfully comforting experience.
Amenities
In our suites you will find marble and tile floors, marble kitchens and baths, most feature a small kitchen and bathtub. Our Love Suite has a hanging bed (pictured above). See Suites for details.
Our beds are extremely comfortable and our bed linens are top quality, sun-dried for a delicious feel. Our refreshing ocean breeze lets you sleep to the sound of the sea; modern air conditioning is also installed in each suite. We feel we have created an ideal environment to relax, recharge and reconnect. There are facilities for 2 hamocks in most rooms.
Yoga classes are available close by (five minutes by bicycle) at Isla Mujeres' new Yoga Center.
Casa IxChel can be booked for an intimate wedding overlooking the Caribbean with a selection of traditional and shamanic ceremonies available. Renew your vows, life celebration and baptisms.
Children will find an opportunity to really spend time in nature, beachcombing is available on property. Activities on site include tortilla and bracelet making, children`s and adults dream catcher workshop, children`s videos and DVDS.
